period for a jalapeño plant is 70-80 days. When
mature, the plant stands two and a half to three
feet tall. Typically, a single plant will produce
twenty five to thirty five pods. During a growing
period, a plant will be picked multiple times. As
the growing season comes to an end, the jalapeños
start to turn red.Once picked, individual peppers ripen to red of
their own accord. The peppers can be eaten green or
red.Start seeds indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Keep soil barely moist. Wet soil will kill peppers. 80 degrees is ideal, but anywhere from 70 to 90 degrees will work fine.These will germinate very easy...I have a very high germination rate each year.....85 days. Open pollinated. Full sun. Water weekly if necessary.Water regularly, but do not over-water.These are VERY easy to grow and will not disappoint You..All my seeds are SELF grown by me and all have VERY good germination rates..

Peter pepers are adaptable to a variety of growing conditions.
The peter pepper, particularly the red variety, has been described as a miniature replica of the circumcised male organ . The pod of the pepper is wrinkled and has a round tip with a cleft. Peter peppers are approximately 3 to 4 inches in length, and 1 to 1.5 inches wide when
fully mature. The pod of the pepper has also been noted for its pungency.
The unusually phallic shaped fruits of the penis pepper resemble human penises when fully ripe. In addition to the conversation value of this pepper, it has a variety of uses including salsas and ground pepper. Peter peppers are prolific producers! The penis pepper heat level
ranges between 5,000 and 30,000 scoville units which is hotter than Tabasco and even hotter than the Jalapeno.

It's origin is believed to be Appalachia, United States. The heat level of Peter Peppers is somewhat hotter than a jalapeno. The Yellow Peter Pepper's heat level is slightly lower than the Red Peter pepper. People grow these mostly for their novelty, but Peter Peppers have a good hot pepper flavor that is good for most spicy dishes and salsas.
